Opening Delayed

We have good news and bad news. The good news is that we passed all inspections, a huge milestone for this project. Unfortunately, there is some bad news: The pool will be closed over the Memorial Day weekend. We are currently planning to open on Tuesday, May 29th at 3:30pm.

To explain the delay, in the last few days Elite Pools noticed we were losing water from the pool. After troubleshooting, it became clear Thursday morning that the only course of action was to drain the pool and replace the drains in the diving well (an area of the pool not impacted by the construction). Filling the pool takes 3 days normally.

The pool was drained today; a repair crew was at the pool Thursday evening making necessary repairs. The major drain structure is in good working condition, so the crew is patching and installing new flow covers. We avoided major additional work, and we plan to open the pool — absent additional unforeseen issues — Tuesday at 3:30pm.

We will follow up when we know adjusted plans for the Swim and Dive Team introductory meetings currently scheduled for Monday and the new plans for the social events that had been scheduled for this weekend. (Meetings may still take place on the pool property — again details to come after discussion with team representatives.)

Again, we appreciate your patience and apologize for the delayed opening. While we have been pushing hard to open on time we need to do so in a safe and responsible manner. The Tuesday, May 29th opening will also enable us to finish other loose ends and help the new lawn take root.
