Construction update, swim team website

It’s the first week of May which means we are in the final stretch before the start of the season! There is a TON of activity happening in these final weeks …

April was particularly busy for modernization and repair work. All the old concrete that was removed to access the leaks, address standing water, and bring our electrical bonding up to code has been replaced. That means the pool deck is fully operational. Plus, the front steps and sidewalk to the bridge are all new! The wider, higher profile should drain better and prevent standing water or mud. And yes, the stairs will have new railings on both sides! Those should be installed by mid-May.

Things that you might not notice: we’ll have new commercial grade water heaters and bathhouse doors (no more rust piles at the bottom). The heaters were replaced on April 30 and the doors are being installed this week.

There’s more coming and we’ll fill you in as we check them off the punch list!

Attention FINS swimmers and parents … swim team rep Geoff Plague reports that the new team website is finished! It looks amazing and very nicely organized. Swim team registration is open ($155 for the first family swimmer, and $110 for sibling swimmers). The deadline to register is June 7. The 2019 season will kick off with an introductory team meeting on Memorial Day afternoon, with evening practice beginning the next day — Tuesday, May 28. Go FINS!

Be on the lookout for a familiar face at the pool this season. We’re happy to to announce that former FINS coach Dale Lewis is taking on the pool manager duties this season. You’ll see him supervising the lifeguards and making sure everything is running smoothly. Welcome back, Dale!

ICYMI …

Water aerobics classes start June 18Register now as spots are filling up! Deep-water aerobics classes are a fantastic way to stay in shape while also having fun with other pool members. (NOTE: You have to be logged into the site in order to see the registration page).
