CUTS TO FEET OF WADING POOL SWIMMERS
We checked into concerns that some young swimmers are experiencing cuts and abrasions after using the wading pool. Our construction contractor (Elite Pools) and pool operator (Georgetown Aquatics) separately went over the pool and found the pool surface itself is normal. Both suggested the problems may be “pool toe,” a condition many swimmers experience in early summer as their feet adjust to walking barefoot in and around pools.
For steps you can take to prevent and address pool toe, see: [link]. Let us know if you continue to experience similar problems and we’ll look into it.
WORKING OUT THE KINKS: DELAYED OPENINGS, SLIPPERY WALKWAY
As you have probably noticed some of our low lying areas (including the lower sidewalk) are pretty saturated with water. We are working to understand the potential sources and the recent frequent and heavy rains are not helping matters. Testing the various systems has caused us to delay the opening of the pool. Please be patient as we work through these issues.
